Church of Pentecost Gets 40 Prisoners Freed After Paying their Fines: “Effective Prison Ministry”

Forty prisoners convicted of various crimes and serving in prisons in Ghana have been released after the Church of Pentecost paid their fines.

It came to light during a four-day re-integration conference held by the Church of Pentecost Prison Ministry at the Pentecost Convention Center, where the Chairman of the ministry, Apostle ADP James Tetteh made it public.

Per Joy News, the freed prisoners attended the conference and shared their moments of joy with the participants amid dancing and praises to God.

Church of Pentecost is doing effective prison ministry

Tetteh explained that the Church of Pentecost Prison Ministry is about sharing the word of God with the prisoners without neglecting their personal needs.

Speaking on the topic “Doing an effective prison ministry”, he said the church will intensify its efforts in the prisons, saying ''we must therefore get there first'' to reach more inmates.

The conference brought together professional counsellors and experts in reformation, rehabilitation, and re-integration who took the prison ministry committee members and other prison ministry workers drawn from the various areas of the church through sessions from December 5-10, 2022.

Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh previously reported that after 33 years in jail, a Ghanaian man named Tetteh has been released after a killer falsely named him and one other person as his accomplices in a murder case.

The killer, Tengey, accused Tetteh of being his accomplice while people were beating him (Tengey) to name his accomplice before he will be spared.

Tengey also mentioned Gruma, another accomplice when the beatings did not stop. Tetteh and Gruma, however, insisted that they were innocent of the crime.
