Woman Gives Birth Inside Bus, Grateful To Driver and Passengers For Help: "It Was Surreal"

A delighted woman has welcomed another little bundle of joy in unfamiliar territories.

A heavily pregnant Adepeju Opayemi gave birth to her newborn at her scheduled stop at Heathrow Airport.

Travelling to London, Victoria from Swindon

She was travelling to London, Victoria, from Swindon to meet with her aunt when she suddenly went into labour.

The 30-year-old woman cried for help when she experienced contractions as one woman, who was a nurse, came to her aid.

"One particular passenger sat before me and was a great help. I can’t recall her name, but I believe she is a nurse and was travelling with her two children. She kept me calm and stayed with me until the paramedics arrived. She even gave me her sweater to use as a pillow, and I hope we can be reunited so I can thank her - and return her sweater," she told In Your Area.

Driver happy to deliver bouncing baby boy

The Hackney mum welcomed a healthy bouncing baby boy, Samuel, five minutes after the paramedics arrived at the emergency scene by the driver of the coach Tony Boswell.

The 70-year-old narrated his experience saying his passengers always come first, appreciating the others who came to help Adepeju.

"It was such a heart-warming moment, and I’m very grateful I could be a part of it. It was a team effort, with a wonderful nurse stepping up and the staff at Heathrow doing an amazing job. The whole thing completely bemused the other passengers. It’s not often I can say that I helped deliver a baby on a coach," the driver said.

Adepeju said it was a surreal experience, having people around her who gave her words of encouragement and also supported her.

Delivering healthy baby in Mombasa-bound train

Closer home, it was joyful moment as a woman successfully delivered a healthy baby on a Mombasa-bound train.

In a heartwarming incident on Madaraka Express, a woman defied all odds and gave birth to a healthy baby, transforming the train into a temporary maternity ward.

Passengers and crew members were awestruck as a nurse and doctor, who happened to be on the same train, swung into action to help the labouring woman.

The successful yet extraordinary delivery put a smile on the faces of many, showing how moments of joy can emerge in the most unexpected places.
