"Last week, I was on the phone with a friend when she mentioned she was at a particular beauty salon in East Legon. I told her, 'I used to work there after my BECE.' I wasn’t far from the place, so I decided to pass by. To my delight, some of the same staff who knew me as that young boy hustling for a better tomorrow were still working there.
"We couldn’t control our joy when we reconnected. I also met the owner at the entrance, and I could feel the pride in her eyes. She has always believed in me and supported me whenever I called on her. I had taken a job at the salon to raise a little money to support my parents’ modest income while waiting to enter SHS," he added.
Eric Edem Agbana said he shared this part of his story to inspire others who are trying to make something out of their lives from nothing.
"To every young man or woman starting from ground zero: never be ashamed of your journey. Own it. Keep pushing. Keep moving. Your breakthrough will come, because God is indeed the lifter of men."

“Surely, this is inspiring. Hard work really pays. But personally, I wouldn’t count a career in politics as a success. The average African politician is corrupt & greedy, regardless of whether they’re Rev or not. I won’t take motivational speeches from African politicians.”
