The 2024 UEFA Euro tournament is set to draw to a close, with only the final of the showpiece left to be decided.

Throughout the Germany-hosted tournament, several young players have made significant impacts, influencing their respective countries' journeys in the competition.

These standout performances have propelled these young talents into contention for the Young Player of the Tournament award.

The award, which was introduced at the 2016 edition of the tournament, witnessed Portugal's Renato Sanches as the inaugural winner. Spain's Pedri Gonzalez clinched the crown in the 2020 edition, and a flurry of youngsters look poised to win it at the 2024 edition of the Euro.

Favourites for the Euro Young Player of the Tournament Award

Lamine Yamal

When the young Spaniard isn't putting pen to paper for his assignments, the 17-year-old is dropping defenders to the ground with his skill moves.

The Barcelona prodigy is the clear favourite to win the prestigious prize, especially considering his series of outstanding performances that have propelled Spain to the Euro final.

Yamal has been directly involved in four goals so far in the tournament, including a record-setting goal against France.

Kobbie Mainoo

The England national team seems to have hit its stride since Gareth Southgate decided to include the central midfielder in his starting lineup.

The Manchester United youngster may not have dazzled defenders like Yamal and other attacking players at the tournament, but Mainoo has certainly enhanced the overall performance of the Three Lions.

What a player he is! The German youngster was unquestionably one of the standout performers of the 2024 Euro.

The dynamic attacker contributed to three goals in the five games he played.

It's a close call for who will claim the prestigious prize, but the Bayern Munich star is certainly a favourite to win it.

Nico Williams

Reflecting on the Euro tournament, there's a compelling argument that his performance against Italy was the standout individual display thus far.

The 21-year-old was electric, completing four take-ons, drawing fouls, and leaving full-back, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, bewildered with his nimble footwork.
