A video of an Australian sprinter with South Sudanese heritage, Gout Gout, destroying the field in the 100m has emerged.

The 16-year-old dominated his opponents at the 2024 Queensland Athletics Championships to win in 10.29 seconds.

Fans online were impressed by his time and ability, with some comparing him to Usain Bolt.

Gout Gout has been tipped to become an Olympic champion in future.

In the video, Gout was slow off the blocks, but after hitting top speed, he blew the competition away, winning by more than half a second, which is incredible in 100m standard.

Earlier in the year, Gout set a personal best of 20.69 seconds in the 200m, and some feel the 200m is his best race due to his top-end speed, per World Athletics.

In 2023, the teenage prodigy broke the Australian under-18 men’s 200m record.

“It means a lot because I‘ve been training so much for this,” Gout said after the record, per Nine.com.au. I was really nervous. The gun went, and I was good and I just kept pushing. It’s like you can’t feel any ground contact, it feels like you are floating."

Gout's parents migrated to Australia from South Sudan two years before he was born, and some have predicted a bright future for the youngster.

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Usain Bolt, often hailed as the greatest sprinter of all time, was once asked to name his top three football GOATs.

Without much pause, Bolt named Pele and Maradona, finishing his list with Ronaldo.
