After struggling to score for Manchester United this season, netting for his country was a significant moment for Hojlund, who marked it by replicating Ronaldo's iconic celebration.

The Portuguese superstar could only watch as it happened, leading some to accuse the Danish striker of 'mocking' the Al-Nassr forward.

Hojlund clarified that he performed the celebration as a tribute to Ronaldo, whom he considers his 'idol.'

Now, the 40-year-old has addressed the moment himself during a press conference.

Ronaldo Has No Problem With Hojlund's Celebration

After Hojlund was accused of mocking Ronaldo and later clarified his intentions, it was only a matter of time before the Al-Nassr star was asked about the incident himself.

During a press conference ahead of Portugal's rematch against Denmark on Sunday, Ronaldo responded:

"Højlund doing my celebration is not a problem. I know it wasn’t out of disrespect. I understand that not only him, but in all sports, there are people who celebrate like me. I hope that tomorrow he’ll be the one to see me celebrate!"

Ronaldo's underwhelming performance against Denmark sparked debate among football fans about his role in Portugal's national team in 2025.

Many have suggested that age is catching up with him and even argued that his presence might be holding the team back.

Determined to silence his critics, he will be aiming for a significantly better display in Sunday's rematch against the Danes.
