City suffers setback despite Semenyo's form

Despite his dazzling performances, Manchester City faltered in their most recent match.

Morgan Gibbs-White and Elliot Anderson found the net to overturn Rodri’s 62nd-minute strike, a result that saw Pep Guardiola’s side lose ground on Arsenal in the title race.

The slip proved costly, with the Gunners' 1-0 victory over Brighton stretching the gap at the summit to seven points, although Guardiola’s side has played one match less.

Attention now turns to a demanding week for the Citizens.

A meeting with Newcastle United awaits on March 11, marking another chapter in a rivalry that has already produced three encounters in 2026.

After that, a clash with West Ham United follows on March 14.

For Semenyo, the mission remains clear - maintain this explosive rhythm and give City every chance of closing the distance before the curtain falls on the campaign.
