Real Madrid Dressing Room Reportedly Blames Valverde for Causing Clash With Tchouameni
- A dressing room clash between Fede Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni at Real Madrid has sparked internal unrest and a formal club investigation
- Multiple reports suggest teammates are more critical of Valverde, with claims he “crossed the line”
- The Uruguayan, who is injured and under scrutiny, is now expected to miss most of the season run-in as disciplinary action looms
Reports from Valdebebas have dominated coverage this week after tensions escalated into a training ground fight between Uruguayan Fede Valverde and French international Aurelien Tchouameni on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
Valverde, who has made 372 appearances for Real Madrid since 2018, later trained but faces absence due to injury, with the club investigating both players.

The Uruguayan insisted he "was not hit, nor did anyone hit him, but this clashes with all other reporting on the matter."
Real Madrid players blame Valverde
However, multiple sources suggest internal frustration.
On Friday, May 8, Cadena SER reported that several teammates believe Valverde "crossed the line with Tchouameni in his behaviour, incessantly accusing him of leaking a story to the press."
According to the report, while no one condones the clash, sentiment appears more critical of Valverde than Tchouameni.
Meanwhile, the Athletic added he has "been like this all year" and labelled his conduct "unworthy of a captain".
The midfielder is now expected to miss most of the season run-in. However, Valverde’s injury and alleged conduct mean he is unlikely to return before the final league fixture against Athletic Club as internal investigation continues.
