Livingstone Etse Satekla popularly known in the world of entertainment as Stonebwoy has proved time without number that he is a force to reckon in the dancehall music industry in Ghana.

He has thrilled many fans and music lovers to many songs that got them dancing and singing. He has been in the music industry and has remained relevant for a number of years.

The award-winning musician has received local and international recognition for his massive talent and tremendous stagecraft.

The musician is married to Dr. Louisa Satekla, who works as a dentist at the 37 Military Hospital. They joined hands in marriage at a private event that was attended by many movers and shakers in society.

Today, YEN.com.gh brings you some of the achievements of the “People Dey” hit maker in 2017 that arguably makes him the best dancehall act in the whole of Africa.

1. Signed record deal with Zylofon Media.

The “Come from far” song maker made headlines in the news when he was signed on as an artiste with entertainment giants, Zylofon Media. It is reported that the deal that was put on the table was too juicy to turn down. As part of his signing, he was given a new house and a brand new car.

2. He was nominated for the 2017 BET Awards.

Stonebwoy after winning the BET award for the Best International Act in 2015 received yet another nomination in 2017 for the same category. He was the only Ghanaian to have received a nomination from Africa. He was competing with Wizkid (Nigeria), Davido (Nigeria), Tekno (Nigeria), AKA (South Africa), Nasty C (South Africa), Mr Eazi (Nigeria), and Babes Wodumo (South Africa) for the same award.

3. Featured Sean Paul on his latest Album.

Stonebwoy raised the bar when he released his much-anticipated Epistles of Mama album. The album featured award-winning Jamaican superstar, Sean Paul. Stonebwoy indicated that he was honored to have featured on of his role models on his album.

4. Staged a mammoth concert for free.

The “Go Higher” hit maker who has always been proud of his humble beginnings in Ashiaman put in efforts to give back to the community by staging a concert which was dubbed, “Ashiaman to the world” concert. The concert saw attendance from many people. Stonebwoy shared the stage with Shatta Wale on the night, putting to rest any form of rivalry news that was circulating in the media.

5. He was awarded at the Ghana Music Awards in UK.

During the international version of the Ghana Music Awards that was held in UK, Stonebwoy, known in real life as Livingstone Etse Satekla song, “People Dey” was adjudged the Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year.

6. He was interviewed by world-renowned media and news agencies.

He was featured on CNN's Market Place and African Voices which made him the first dancehall artiste in Ghana to have reached that far on an international news agency which was known the world over. The dancehall act also appeared on BBC’s “Focus on Africa”. He also made the news in Jamaica during his visit to the country and featured on Winford Williams’s show.

7. He has been nominated for a Grammy award.

Due to his contribution on Morgan Heritage’s ‘Avrakedabra’ album, Stonebwoy is in line to becoming the second Ghanaian artiste after Rocky Dawuni to be named for the prestigious Grammy Awards.
