The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has turned a year older today, May 6, 2019. Born in 1950, the Asantehene chalked 69 years.
To mark the special occasion, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II put together a grand birthday celebration in Kumasi.
Part of the celebration was a special church service which was at the St. Cyprians Anglican Cathedral in Kumasi.
Present at the birthday service for Otumfuo was the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia who was joined by the Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo, to celebrate with the Asantehene.
Otumfuo who was dressed in a colourful kente cloth was helped with the cutting of his cake by his wife, Lady Julia, Bawumia, the Chief Justice, clergymen and others to cut the birthday cake.
After the church service, the celebration was moved to Otumfuo's residence where other dignitaries like business mogul, Ibrahim Mahama were spotted.
Ibrahim Mahama who came in G-Wagon pickup truck received a lot of cheers as he entered the premise.
Also spotted in a posh at the celebration was the CEO of Adinkra Meat Pie, Barima Osei Mensah.
