Asantehene destools Asafohene for gross insubordination

King of the Ashanti Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has reportedly destooled the Asafohene, Akyamfour Kwame Akowuah III.
Kingdom FM reports that Asafohene was destooled after being found guilty of gross insubordination.
The Asafohene reportedly flouted the Great Oath of Asanteman, one of the pillars of the Asante Kingdom.

He was found guilty of ten different charges and slapped with forty-five counts by his elders for his “autocracy”.
The Asantehene delivered the final judgement on the destoolment at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on Thursday, June 20, 2019.
Otumfuo said the Asafohene’s actions breached the customs and traditions of the Ashanti Kingdom, which is punishable.
Reports suggest the Asantehene had previously warned the Asafohene on issues ranging from illegal sale of lands, destoolment and enstoolment of his sub-chiefs.
Asafohene, Akyamfour Kwame Akowuah III, was enstooled in 2011 and served as the head of Akwamu Division of the Kumasi Traditional Council (KTC), until his destoolment.
