WAEC releases 2020 BECE timetable

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has released the much-anticipated timetable for the 2020 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The BECE is expected to begin on Monday, September 14, 2020, and end on September 18, 2020.

BECE is usually written in June every year but due to the outbreak of deadly COVID-19, the papers will be written in September of this year.

According to WAEC in a report sighted on Ghana News Agency, visually and hearing-impaired candidates will be allowed one and a half extra time of the normal time allotted to other candidates.

The BECE is the official requirement for all JHS 3 graduates who wish to move to Senior High Schools across the country.

Below is the 2020 BECE timetable

English Language, and Religious and Moral Education – Monday, Sept 14

Integrated Science, and Basic Design and Technology – Tuesday, Sept. 15

Information and Communication Technology, and French – Wednesday, Sept. 16

Mathematics, Ghanaian Language and Culture – Thursday, Sept 17

Social Studies – Friday, Sept 18

YEN.com.gh reported that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has confirmed that, the Kotoka International Airport would begin operation on Tuesday, September 1, 2020.

According to him all passengers who would be reporting to the Kotoka International Ariport are to have a negative COVID-19 test result.

The result he said should not be more than 72 hours old when presented at the airport
