Historic Ghanaian boxer, Azumah Nelson, has revealed how he got so close to the late former President Jerry John Rawlings.
In an interview on Face to Face sighted by YEN.com.gh on the official YouTube handle of Citi TV before the demise of the JJ, Azumah amazed everyone when he mentioned what Rawlings used to do.
According to the four-time world boxing champion, he and the former president really got acquainted with each other during their preparation towards the World Olympic games held back in the day.

Azumah indicated that at the time, there was a particular gold medalist in boxing from America he was preparing to meet and JJ Rawlings decided to give this full attention.
The renowned boxer recounted that although he was the head of state at the time, JJ would come into their training room to sweep, clean and serve them food to make sure they were safe.
From then, the relationship between the two revered Ghanaian icons just kept getting better and better.
In another report by YEN.com.gh, the first daughter of the late former President Ft Lt Jerry John Rawlings, Zanetor Agyemang Rawlings, has recounted childhood memories with her late father on camera.
In the video interview with GHOne prior to the demise of the beloved ex-president, Zanetor looked so excited as she remembered what was termed as 'wicked hilariousness' on the part of her dad.
A case in point was when Zanetor was being taught how to fly a plane by her father and he literally 'abandoned' her to fly alone when she did not have full confidence in her skill.
