A video showing the nerve-wracking moment the Speaker of Parliament saw the MP for Tema West Constituency snatch ballot papers has surfaced on social media.

In the footage sighted by YEN.com.gh on the verified Facebook handle of 3FM 92.7, Alban Bagbin looked extremely anxious to see what would immediately unfold.

He watched with prying eyes and was visibly calmed a little as the culprit was grabbed and the ballot papers were retrieved from him.

As YEN.com.gh previously reported, honourable Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, the MP-elect for Tema West Constituency snatched ballot papers during the counting of election results in parliament.

In a live telecast monitored by YEN.com.gh on the verified Facebook handle of JoyNews, the National Democratic Congress caucus of MPs started jubilating just before the incident took place.

According to some of the NDC MP-elects who spoke to the media, their candidate, Alban Bagbin garnered 138 votes in total.

Meanwhile, another interesting report by YEN.com.gh has it that on the eventful morning of January 7, 2020, over 270 members of parliament-elects were sworn into office as full MPs, and part of that number were two brothers.

Interestingly, Samuel Abu Jinapor stood on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party for the Damango Constituency and won with over 15,000 votes representing 53.49% of total votes cast.

Samuel's elder brother, John Abdulai Jinapor, on the other hand, stood on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress for the Yapei Kusawgu Constituency and won with a whopping 58.43% of total votes cast.
