As previously reported YEN.com.gh Bagbin emerged as the Speaker of Parliament after tight race.

Bagbin who was nominated by the NDC side of the house got the nod over the immediate-past Speaker, Professor Aaron Mike Ocquaye.

In a vote marred by many altercations, Bagbin polled 138 votes against Ocquayes 136 with one vote being declared as spoilt.

The election of Bagbin came as a surprise as Ocquaye had been thought to be the favourite since he was nominated by the NPP side.

The NPP had counted on independent MP, Andrew Amoako Asiamah, to break the tie between them and the NDC.

But after voting, it turned out that some of the party's MPs had voted for their opponents' nominee.

For the two women in the video, the vote for Bagbin meant the party's MPs had betrayed President Akufo-Addo and the NPP.

In their response to his betrayal, the NPP ladies who were left in tears over the matter rained indirect curses on the MPs while praising Akufo-Addo and the party's executives.

"...We have now realised that it is the MPs who sabotaging themselves. Ghanaians say God should bless you.
"...You [MPs] have disgraced Akufo-Addo because of Kyebi people and we bless you in God's name. MPs God should bless.
"...The Bible says one's enemies are those from his house and the MPs have shown they hate Akufo-Addo. 2024 we will vote skirt and blouse," they said while weeping.

Meanwhile, there was chaos in Parliament prior to the swearing-in of Akufo-Addo and Bawumia.
