A newly released photo of the late former president, J.J Rawlings, and his mother, Victoria Agbotui, has sparked a debate concerning the 52-year-old woman claiming to be Rawlings’ first daughter.
The photo has Rawlings’ right arm around the mother’s neck while she smiled brightly in looking into his face.
Two Ghanaians who must have made a deeper observation commented that Rawlings’ mother in the photo looks like Abigail, the woman claiming to be a daughter of the late president.
One of them, Hindu Fusein, wrote that Abigail has the same face as Rawlings’ mother:
Another lady, Josephine, also agreed to Hindu’s observation:
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the 52-year-old woman who claims to be called Abigail Rawlings said she is the daughter of the late former president of Ghana, Flt Lt Jerry John Rawlings.
She spoke passionately about her being the child of the late former president of Ghana.
According to her, her mother is a Togolese who has passed away but told her before her death that Rawlings was her father.
Abigail added that many of former President Rawlings's maternal relatives in their hometown know her and have accepted her into the family.
She has been stopped by security personnel at the funeral grounds from viewing the mortal remains of the late president.
Abigail would not budge as she fought back the security personnel in a video published by YEN.com.gh.
Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has announced at the funeral that the University of Development Studies (UDS) has been renamed after Rawlings and is now known as J J Rawlings University of Development Studies.
