The National Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, Sammy Gyamfi has come out hard at some big wigs in the party.
In a post shared on his Facebook page, he noted that the party has suffered great betrayal in the hands of Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, Haruna Iddrissu, Muntaka Mubarak, and some other NDC MPs.
It is unclear what exactly his reason for such comments are but he stated that they defied the leadership of the NDC for their selfish interest.
He added that the shame they have brought to the party will forever hang like an albatross around their necks.
Sammy Gyamfi said even though times are hard, some have sold their conscience.
He however described the happenings of March 3, 2021, in Parliament as a “Black Wednesday," where the NDC gave the self-inflicted shame.
Sammy Gyamfi said this incident indicates that it is the time for them to insist on the right changes in the leadership of the NDC group in Parliament or forget about them completely.
The current leadership have lost their moral authority to lead and are not fit to sit on the front bench of the NDC side of the house. More importantly, it’s about time we understood, that we don’t have any NDC Speaker of Parliament. No we don’t! We have a Speaker who rode on the back of the NDC into Office to pursue his own parochial agenda and nothing more. You trust them, at your own peril," he said.
His post has drawn a lot of reactions from some social media commentators.
Awal Mohammed stated that they did not betray the party.
The didn’t betray you. They only reminded you that they were elected by their constituents and not some few disgruntled national officers like you. You jubilated when Bagbin was elected as Speaker when you didn’t have majority.
Suleman Twih Brempong seems to have gotten support and evidence for his suspicion.
Highly disappointed. Now I've been vindicated for not trusting the Speakership of ASK Bagbin & other MPs in Ghana's parliament. Some even campaign against JM but not until JM finishes his unfinished business no one should not dare. The grassroot of NDC is disappointed.
Prince Wiredu Phinehas believes with this comment Sammy Gyamfi has a short stay in leadership.
Wow! Is this coming from the head of communications of the party? Throwing punches at the very people who represent you in parliament? You clearly have a short stay in your party leadership.
In other news, former President John Mahama has just arrived at the Supreme Court ahead of a very important development in his political career.
