Dr Ballu Sibiri, the Orthopaedic/Spine Surgeon at the Wenchi Methodist Hospital, who diagnosed Portia indicated that she requires a total replacement of her hip through open surgery quickly before the situation gets out of hand.

According to him, the 25-year-old teacher's left hip bone has sharply deformed with all her cartilages gone, leaving just a little that they can hold to perform the replacement surgery.

What makes the situation a little dire is that the young Maths teacher is also a sickle cell patient.
