Helina mentioned that her business is very lucrative but in recent times, this has reduced significantly and she is planning to stop and learn a different trade.

She attributes the reduced profits to the high prices at which the goods are now sold at, at source, which the vendors like herself cannot impose on the customers.

When asked if there are any other downsides to the trade, Helina revealed that:

"The thing about the wele business is that you have to always keep yourself tidy because it leaves a strong stench on you. It can be on you everywhere you go. Sometimes, drivers don't even want to carry us due to the smell of the goods we are carrying," she said.
