Woman Says She Converted to Islam for Love of Her Husband, Religious Dress Code

A beautiful bride decided to convert to Islam after she got engaged to a guy who did not share the same faith as hers.

Bijou Fortunate, who was raised a Catholic, adopted the name Bushira after converting into a Muslim when she married Islam Kigongo.

While interviewing with Mywedding.co.ug, the bride said that she preferred to convert because she admired how Muslim women dressed.

“I love covering my head as the Islamic way of dressing. It is very easy and takes little time to get ready compared to the secular dressing codes of matching colours, and looking for different things that go well together such as a skirt, blouse and shoes,” she noted.

While she grew up as a Christian, the gorgeous wife said she is currently learning how to pray, noting that she still has a hard time learning Arabic.

Her husband, Islam, has also been very supportive and even helped her get a sheikh as a mentor who is currently helping her with Arabic.

The beautiful couple met through work when the two were contracted to offer their services at Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards despite the two working for different companies.

Then, Bijou was managing the table reservations during the event while her lover was supervising and coordinating the event.

Their love story led to a beautiful partnership as not only did they start dating, but they also supported each other's career goals.

They also happen to share interests that complement each other's career.

Bijou runs a side business that focuses on creating events while her fine hubby runs a digital marketing company. The two side hustles also support each other as the couple are known for creating top-notch events.
