"Pray for me" - #FixTheCountry originator requests as tension heats up
- Kalyjay, the originator of the #FixTheCountry campaign has asked people to pray for him
- The request comes as a planned demonstration by the conveners of the campaign was blocked by the Ghana Police Service
- The campaign seeks to draw attention to issues facing Ghana and challenging the government to fix them

Twitter Influencer and originator of the #FixTheCountry campaign, KalyJay has asked for prayers in the face of mounting pressure.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the Ghana Police Service through the courts blocked the planned demonstration originally scheduled for May 9, 2021, by coveners of the campaign.
Over the past week, Ghanaians have been protesting virtually against the government led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo over social and developmental issues in the country.
On May 10, 2021, the originator of the campaign tweeted asking for prayers, and YEN.com.gh cannot confirm what necessitated the tweet.
"Pray for me." tweeted Kalyjay.
He has since received major support after he sent out the tweet with many pledging to pray, and defend him.
"Alpha patrol command requesting witness protection detail shadowing Kalyjay, all teams come in," Kormla.
Kofi Wins pointed out the need for prayers: "Yeah Man let’s support Him in prayers ..today at work some npp people were dragging him ,saying he has gone to collect car den money from Ndc ..they dirty his nama basaa to the older folks who don’t know him and wanted to know all about this Online demonstration:
Cutis Owusu asked Kalyjay to keep his supporters updated: "Make you update your followers everything that comes your way been threat or whatever ...@gyaigyimii so everyone will know and continue to fight with you bro"
Hollision Isreal encouraged Kalyjay: "If possible get old tapes of Marcus Garvey, nkrumah, Malcolm X as well as Rawlings & listen to daily; for ya mental & spirit fortification... As well as meditate on the psalms & Ecclesiastes writings. Atta-Nyumgor be wit you!"
Meanwhile, The #FixTheCountry campaign has gained another high-profile supporter in the person of Ghanaian highlife music legend, Gyedu Blay Ambolley. He joins other public figures including Yvonne Nelson, John Dumelo, Efia Odo, and Nana Aba Anamoah.
Over the past week, Ghanaians have been protesting virtually against the government led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo over social and developmental issues in the country.
Blay declared his support for the cause during a chat with Hammer Nti on Pure FM in Kumasi. He questioned why politicians clamour for votes with the claim to help develop the country only to renege on their promise once voted into power.
