Former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah, has released a list of his best Ghanaian football stars.

In a post on social media, the former Juventus star tweeted about his best Ghanaian players.

The said list was without another former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan.

In the viral list, Appiah named himself as number 1.

Abedi Pele and Tony Yeboah were listed as second and third respectively with Michael Essien coming in fourth.

Appiah’s list raised a number of eyebrows across social media as people wondered why Gyan wasn’t included.

Gyan and Appiah played together for the Black Stars for seven years with the former currently holding the record as the country’s all-time highest scorer.

Appiah made 67 appearances for the national team, scoring 14 goals.

Meanwhile, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been rated as the best manager in the world according to the top 20 shortlists by UK football website 90Min.

The Spanish-born tactician stands a chance to lead his Premier League club to their first Champions League glory when they face rivals, Chelsea, later this month.

He has already clinched the EFL Cup and the EPL silverware looks pretty much going back to the Etihad Stadium at the end of this season.

With three English topflight titles and a possible UCL triumph along with other domestic successes, the former Barcelona handler appears fit for the position he has been placed in.

Hansi Flick comes right after Guardiola as the second-best manager in the world following his exploits with Bayern Munich in the 2019-20 season.

He led the Bavarians to win six major titles including the Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup despite taking charge of the club at the beginning of the same season.
