Meanwhile, armed police officers stormed a press conference by a pro-NPP group calling itself—'Movement for Bawumia’.

According to a report sighted on Starrfm.com.gh, the presser was scheduled for Wednesday, May 26, 2021.

It was meant to address issues surrounding the Akufo-Addo administration’s latest “no-nonsense” stance against illegal mining vis-à-vis the burning of excavators and other equipment seized at galamsey sites.

Starr News’ Ashanti Regional correspondent, Isaac Bediako, who was at the presser reported that the Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator stormed the event with six armed police officers.

The organisers of the presser were whisked to the regional police command after close to an hour meeting with the armed officers.
