Mark Okraku-Mantey Loses Ayensuano NPP Parliamentary Primary

The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mark Okraku-Mantey, has lost his bid to be the parliamentary candidate of Ayensuano in the Eastern Region.

Okraku-Mantey was defeated in the December 2 primaries for the New Patriotic Party.

He garnered 136 votes, while the victor, Ida Adwoa Asiedu, polled 410.

In 2020, Asiedu contested the former Member of Parliament for the area, Ayeh Paye, but lost marginally

The voting was scheduled at Gwira-Bamiako, but the Municipal Security Council advised that the election should be held at a neutral centre.

Bissue plans to contest the New Patriotic Party primary to represent the Essikado-Ketan constituency.

Bissue has urged NPP supporters in the constituency to rally behind him to ensure victory for the NPP.
