Manchester United fans were left stunned by André Onana’s actions in just his second outing for new club Trabzonspor.

After two turbulent years at Old Trafford, the Cameroon goalkeeper departed on September 11, sealing a season-long loan move to the Turkish side.

Signed from Inter Milan in the summer of 2023 for £47.2 million, Onana struggled to convince across 102 appearances for United before making the switch.

When United manager Ruben Amorim left the shot-stoper out of the club’s first three Premier League fixtures and then brought in goalkeeper Senne Lammens on deadline day, it became clear that the 29-year-old’s future lay away from Old Trafford.

Since completing his loan switch to Trabzonspor, however, Onana has quickly made headlines, and even Manchester United fans have been taken aback by his early impact in Turkey.

Just three days after his move was confirmed, he made his debut against Fenerbahçe, delivering a man-of-the-match performance despite Trabzonspor falling to a 1-0 defeat.

Then, in only his second appearance, Onana went a step further by providing the assist for Paul Onuachu’s equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Gaziantep, underlining his impressive start at the Süper Lig club.

With Trabzonspor trailing 1-0 in the 70th minute, Onana carried the ball out of his box and launched a long pass to his striker, who skillfully outpaced four Gaziantep defenders and the goalkeeper to secure a crucial equaliser.

Although Andre Onana is clearly enjoying life with his new club, United fans will likely be happy enough without him as their side secured a crucial win over Chelsea shortly before Onana's performance for Trabzonspor.

A chaotic match that saw red cards for both sides ultimately finished as a 2-1 win for the hosts, with goals from captain Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro, Sky Sports reported.
