The top 10 secondary schools in Ghana based on NSMQ

Ghanaians senior high schools are considered among the best in west Africa based on the result of the West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE).

We bring you the top ten based on the results National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ), which is the premier quiz competition for senior high schools in Ghana.

1. Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (Presec Legon)

The top 10 secondary schools in Ghana based on NSMQ

Presec, which is based at Legon in Accra, has won the NSMQ five times. (1995, 2003, 2006, 2008 and 2009)

2. Prempeh College

The top 10 secondary schools in Ghana based on NSMQ

Prempeh has the NSMQ three times. (1994, 1996 and 2015). Former President JA Kufour attended the school.

3. Mfantsipim SHS

The top 10 secondary schools in Ghana based on NSMQ

They won the NSMQ in 1999 and 2014.

4. Achimota School

The top 10 secondary schools in Ghana based on NSMQ

The school won the NSMQ in 1998 and 2004. Famous alumunus from the school includes Kwame Nkrumah, JJ Rawlimgs, Atta Mills and Edward Akufo-Addo.

5. Opoku Ware SHS

The school won the NSMQ in 1997 and 2002.

6. St. Peters SHS

The Koforidua-based school won the competition in 2001.
