Shatta Wale may have failed to receive a BET nomination, but he has something else to be proud of.
On Saturday, the dancehall star received a top award at the first edition of the Ghana Entertainment Awards USA in the US.
Shatta Wale received the Best Entertainer award, while his song ‘Kakai’ won the Best Song award.
The singer has been in the news in recent for tweeting that his BECE certificate was more valuable than a BET nomination.
The tweet drew condemnation for Shatta Wale from some members of the public who deemed it as arrogant.

The winning of the US award will, therefore, come as a welcome relief to the Kakai hitmaker.
