American singer and actress Cassie Ventura has spoken after a video of her ex-lover Sean Love Combs, aka Diddy, from 2016 surfaced.

Social media was ablaze when a video of Diddy putting his hands on Cassie in 2016 surfaced on social media.

In 2016, Diddy was in a hotel where he physically assaulted Cassie. CNN released CCTV footage showing Diddy chasing Cassie, hitting her on the head until she fell on the ground and kicking her while she was down.

He then dragged her back to the room. Cassie's legal team had described the scene when they submitted a lawsuit against Diddy.

Did Diddy apologise to Cassie?

The Independent reported that Diddy apologised for attacking his ex-girlfriend in an emotional video post.

In the clip, the hip-hop star called his behaviour 'inexcusable' and said he took full responsibility for his actions.

Diddy said he sought professional help and was genuinely sorry for his actions.

What did Cassie say after leaked video?

Cassie has since broken her silence in an emotional post where she opened up on how broken she was due to years of abuse.

“Domestic Violence is the issue. It broke me down to someone I never thought I would become. With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past. My only ask is that everyone open your heart to believing victims the first time. It takes a lot of heart to tell the truth out of a situation that you were powerless in."

In a lengthy Instagram post, the actress revealed that she was feeling safer and thanked her fans for the outpouring of love.
