Veteran Ghanaian highlife musician Akosua Agyapong has advised Kumawood actress Yaa Jackson over her wild lifestyle.

In an interview with media personality Nana Romeo on Ekwanso Dwodwo on Thursday, August 28, 2025, the musician expressed her gratitude to the young actress for looking up to her as a role model.
Akosua Agyapong also commended Yaa Jackson and the current crop of female singers for incorporating elements of the highlife music genre into their songs.
The veteran highlife musician advised her to be herself and avoid copying others in the Ghanaian music industry.

Citing herself as an example, she noted that she has always been appreciative of her various successes and has never been interested in meddling in other people's affairs.
Akosua Agyapong also called on Yaa Jackson to continue working hard to excel in her acting and music career.

Akosua Agyapong also advised Yaa Jackson to pay attention and learn from some of her lifestyle choices.
She called on the Kumawood actress and singer to imitate her style of dressing if she wanted to go far in her career.
She said:
"If you say I am your role model, then look at some of the things I do, like my dressing and other stuff. I am begging her to look at my dressing so she can go far."
Akosua Agyapong noted that she had built a reputation that had seen her name being used to teach students in various educational institutions across the country.

She called on Yaa Jackson to change her fashion choices, as they could eventually collaborate on a song and shoot a video together.
She said:
"I was surprised some schools were using my name and songs to teach students, which is a plus. I am begging her, if she really considers me as her role model, she needs to change how she dresses, because we will eventually compose a song together by all means, and we will really dance in the video."
Yaw Boadu-Ayeboafoh on Akosua's advice to Yaa
Speaking to YEN.com.gh, entertainment analyst Yaw Boadu-Ayeboafoh shared his thoughts on how veteran artistes like Akosua Agyapong can effectively mentor younger stars while respecting their individuality.
He said:
"Veteran musicians need to lead the way to inspire the youth, but they should also be aware of the change in trends, as what was relevant then might not be relevant now."

Yaa Jackson gave birth to a baby boy at 22 while still unmarried and has regularly received backlash from Ghanaians for her raunchy photos on social media.
