Ghanaian media personality Joyce Akumaa Dongotey-Padi, widely known as Akumaa Mama Zimbi, has shared insightful details about her signature headscarf during a recent interview with Deloris Frimpong Manso on the popular Delay Show.

Known for her vibrant style, Akumaa Mama Zimbi stated that she initially uses four yards of rich purple cloth for her first scarf, after which she combines it with an additional four yards of colourful African print fabric.

This special eight-yard ensemble is a trademark of her bold fashion sense, although she sometimes opts for a more extravagant twelve yards, which can become quite heavy when worn.

Akumaa Mama Zimbi, who is the daughter of a late policeman and hails from Yendi, expressed her cultural pride by incorporating traditional African beads into her accessories, paying homage to her Krobo heritage.

She attributed her youthful complexion to a diet rich in locally sourced foods that are packed with natural nutrients, emphasising the importance of wholesome, traditional cuisine in maintaining her health and beauty.

As a married woman for 30 years, she firmly asserted that engaging in romantic affairs with another man is out of the question.

Furthermore, Akumaa clarified that she did not intentionally snub Joyce Blessing during a past encounter at a public function, countering any speculation about rudeness on her part.

In light of these rumours, Akumaa Mama Zimbi announced her intent to take legal action against a blogger who allegedly incited this narrative.
