Immigration Officer Dies in Motorbike Crash at Assin Fosu, Police Officer Hospitalised

  • An Immigration officer identified as Amoakoh, popularly known as Ahuoden, was killed in a motorbike crash at Assin Fosu in the Central Region
  • The crash occurred while the two officers were travelling from Finest Pub towards the Assin Fosu Main Lorry Station
  • A Police officer attached to the Central North Regional Police Command sustained fractures and remains hospitalised as investigations begin

An Immigration Officer has died following a motorbike crash in Assin Fosu, Central Region, with a Police officer from the Central North Regional Police Command left in a critical condition after the same incident.

The deceased has been identified as Amoakoh, widely known by the nickname Ahuoden. He was riding as a pillion passenger at the time of the crash, with the police officer operating the motorbike.

Citi News reported that the two men were on their way from Finest Pub heading towards the Assin Fosu Main Lorry Station when the motorbike veered off the road and came down.

The cause of the sudden loss of control had not been officially confirmed at the time of publication.

Members of the public who were present at the scene intervened quickly, helping to move both men to a nearby health facility for emergency attention.

Medical officers at the facility, however, declared Amoakoh dead upon his arrival.

Police Officer Receiving Treatment

The Police officer suffered fractures to his left arm and left leg in the crash and remains admitted at the health facility, where he is currently undergoing medical treatment.

Following the incident, personnel from the Central North Regional Motor Traffic and Transport Department visited the crash site. Officers retrieved the damaged motorbike for technical examination and opened an investigation into what caused the accident.

The body of the deceased Immigration Officer has since been transferred to a morgue as the relevant authorities await further procedures.
