The automobile company brought about 15 financial institutions to its Auto Sale and Expo, held at its showroom in Dzorwulu, Accra, on August 13 and 14, 2026.
Zonda Tec CEO Yang Yang announced the arrangement before the event, explaining that the banks would help qualified customers finance their preferred vehicles.
According to her, the participating financial institutions were also prepared to offer comparatively favourable interest rates following reductions in lending rates.
Banks offer different packages
Fidelity Bank, Ecobank, Zenith Bank, UBA, Universal Merchant Bank and Agricultural Development Bank were among the institutions whose involvement was publicly confirmed.
Zonda Tec advertised one arrangement with Fidelity Bank providing financing of up to 80% of a vehicle’s cost. This means a qualified customer could be required to contribute the remaining 20%, depending on the final terms offered by the bank.
The company also promoted a vehicle asset-finance arrangement with Ecobank, while Zenith Bank advertised its Auto Finance service at the exhibition.
However, the conditions were not the same across all the participating banks. Interest rates, required deposits, repayment periods and eligible vehicle models depended on the institution selected.
The complete list of the approximately 15 banks and their individual packages was not publicly released.
Approval is not automatic
The financing arrangement does not mean customers can simply select a vehicle and drive it away without undergoing financial checks.
Banks generally assess an applicant’s monthly income, employment history, existing debts and credit record. Salaried workers may be required to submit recent payslips, bank statements, a Ghana Card, proof of address and a letter from their employer.
Self-employed applicants could also be asked to provide business registration documents and records showing a reliable source of income.
Once approved, the bank pays the financed amount directly to the automobile dealer. The customer subsequently repays the loan in monthly instalments over an agreed period.
Calso also offered a 10% discount on vehicles displayed during the two-day exhibition. However, the reduction was an expo offer and should not be considered a permanent discount.
Therefore, the viral claim that Zonda Tec partnered with 15 banks is largely accurate, although it requires context.
The confirmed announcement was that about 15 banks would provide financing opportunities at the August exhibition.
Customers interested in applying after the event must contact Zonda Tec or the respective banks to determine which packages remain available.
