Authorities claimed that the woman was seen on camera from a nearby store just moments after she fired several shots.

Interim First Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore stated:

"She was on the bus, the way it was described to me, stepped off the bus, and fired into the bus. Then got on and off several times."

According to police, a woman in her early 20s was riding on the bus when she got off and fired the first shot.

She then got back on and off the bus several times while continuing to fire rounds. There were several individuals on the bus, but nobody was harmed.
