The family of Ghanaian footballer Raphael Dwamena is pleading for assistance to bring his body back home after the 28-year-old tragically passed away on Saturday during a match in Albania.
Patrick Akoto Sefa, Dwamena's father, told local radio station Peace FM that the entire family has been devastated and crying nonstop since hearing the tragic news.
"We've spoken to his wife and she indicated that they were making provisions to secure a flight to bring the body to Ghana," Sefa said.
Appealing for Government and Football Association Support
Sefa made an urgent appeal to the government of Ghana and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to help facilitate and fund the repatriation of Dwamena's body for burial in his home country.
"We need help to bring the body to Ghana. We are appealing to the Ghana Football Association and all persons to help us bring the body to Ghana," he pleaded.

Dwamena collapsed suddenly on the pitch during a match between his club FK Egnatia and Partizani Tirana. Medics rushed onto the field but were unable to revive the striker.
