A man who was caught on video assaulting a judge in a Clark County courtroom last week received a prison sentence on Monday, January 8, for a different case.
According to CNN, Deobra Redden, 30, was sentenced by Judge Mary Kay Holthus to 19 months to four years in prison for a charge of attempted battery with substantial bodily harm.

Holthus said that the sentence was the same one she intended to give Redden before he attacked her in the viral incident.
She also said that any other charges stemming from the attack would be handled by another court in the future.
Redden is facing seven counts of battery on a protected person and battery for his assault on Holthus, according to court records.
The attack happened on Wednesday, January 7, when Redden and his lawyer asked Holthus for probation instead of jail time, claiming that Redden was turning his life around with a new job and education plans.
Holthus rejected the request, citing Redden’s extensive criminal history, which included three felonies, multiple misdemeanours, domestic violence, robberies and attempted home invasion.
Attack in courtroom
As Holthus was about to pronounce the sentence, Redden yelled profanities at her and jumped over the bench, tackling her.
The video of the attack showed both of them disappearing behind the bench while court officers rushed to intervene.
A state flag for Nevada and an American flag crashed in the chaos.
In the turmoil that preceded, Redden yelled obscenities at Holthus, and the clip showed him wrestling with several other people.
While the judge was still on the ground, court officers hauled him away, but he managed to escape and attempted to follow her again, as seen on camera. He even traded blows with other participants in the fight.
