“This is a human problem, so human beings can solve it. As human beings, there is nothing we cannot destroy and there is nothing we cannot build. When we put our minds to it, it can be solved,” he stated.
He further stressed the role of leadership in tackling the issue, indicating that those unwilling to comply with efforts to stop illegal mining must be compelled to do so.
“Those who are not willing should be caused to abide, and that is why I speak of leadership,” he added during the campaign period.

NDC's Mary Awusi warns Apostle Nyamekye
The resurfacing of the video comes in the wake of recent criticism directed at the Pentecost leader by an NDC stalwart, who took issue with his comments on galamsey.
Speaking in an interview on Accra FM on April 23, the outspoken Dr Mary Awusi, CEO of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, accused Apostle Nyamekye of being partisan and cautioned him against engaging in political discourse
“He is a man of God, so we will forgive him, but next time he should not come so low to that level. When he stoops and tries to do politics, they will deal with him as a politician,” she said.
She also questioned his stance during the previous administration, arguing that conditions in mining communities were dire at the time.
“When Nana Addo was President, if you went to the mining communities, the rivers were like mud. At that time, was he in Ghana? Did he see what was happening?” she asked.
The renewed circulation of the video has sparked conversations online, as many revisit Apostle Nyamekye’s earlier advocacy and weigh it against the Free Zones Boss's comment purporting the Pentecost Chairman is being political in his activism against galamsey.
