Woman Shares New Polygamy System Where Wife Allows Hubby To Marry Richer Woman
- There is a new trend in polygamy where men are strategically adding wives for financial gain
- In this model, the husband’s first wife actively assists in securing a wealthy co-wife to fund the family
- Commenting on the arrangement, Nairobi businesswoman Awuor Awuor explained that first wives are forced to learn to control jealousy
Polygamy has existed since time immemorial, but the focus is usually on its complexities and challenges.
However, businesswoman Awuor Awuor discloses that there is a modern twist to polygamy that is less discussed.
First wife agrees to polygamy
In a post on Facebook, the entrepreneur explained that in the new dispensation, a man marries a second wife for financial support.
The first wife usually approves the idea as it uplifts and educates his other family members.
This unique dynamic challenges conventional notions of jealousy and competition among wives as it hinges on collaboration and support.
Awuor, a woman familiar with this form of polygamy, shared her perspective with TUKO.co.ke.
Second wife's resources benefit family
She described a scenario where the second wife, often financially stable, plays a pivotal role in the family's welfare.
Instead of hate, there is mutual respect and cooperation, with the second wife using her resources to benefit the entire family.
Awuor acknowledged that jealousy is a natural human emotion but emphasized the importance of controlling it.
"For the first wife, the bigger picture is the wellbeing of her children because women are the gatekeepers of family wealth," she explained.
Win-win arrangement
The bigger picture allows the first wife to control other feelings to maximise the future of the family's wealth and the development of her kids.
This arrangement also benefits the second wife as it gives her a man to claim ownership over openly without breaking his family.
Usually, the women who agree with the idea are those who have been unlucky in love and fear ageing while lonely.
This narrative showcases a model where multiple wives can coexist harmoniously, each contributing to the family's welfare.
100% polygamous and proud
In an earlier story, YEN.com.gh reported that a Ghanaian TikTok user, @squishysmum1, has responded to Bishop Dag Heward-Mills' trending video on polygamy with thought-provoking arguments.
The user questioned the assertion that polygamy is natural by suggesting that if animals' behavior justifies it, then women should also have the same freedom.
She extended her argument to include the acceptance of polyandry fueling the ongoing debate over the interpretation of religious teachings in modern contexts.
