The mother, who made a living by washing peoples' clothes, watched with pride as her son Francis Erodi joined the military ranks.

Alfred Koech, who shared the photos, congratulated Mama Erodi for showcasing remarkable strength and determination by offering him an opportunity to succeed.

"Her unwavering commitment to your future is truly admirable. It is wonderful to see that you have risen to the challenge and made her proud," he wrote.

As her son stood tall in his military regalia, the mother’s face beamed with joy, erasing all the painful memories she endured.

Erodi's story of resilience

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Erodi's best friend and neighbour Kelvine Lagat, waxed lyrical about the young soldier.

Lagat indicated that the young soldier came from a family of seven siblings and was a renowned sportsman at Mogonga Secondary School in Kisii.

"He deserves that job. His talent allowed him to complete high school without paying school fees, so his mother supported him in terms of transport back to school," he stated.

Lagat disclosed that Erodi joined the Kenya Army Volleyball team after high school and was declared the Champion of the 2019 national ball games in Kisumu.

Through his work ethic, he was assigned to military school, which culminated in his recent graduation as a full soldier.

Proud Ghanaian dad displays at son's graduation

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that a Ghanaian father had gone viral after he carried his son on his back during his graduation ceremony in a display of pride for his achievement.
