Psychologist Devastated To Learn Patient She's Counseling Over Secret Affair Is Dating Her Husband
- A psychologist was dumbfounded after discovering that her client was her husband's mistress
- The heartbreaking development dawned on her when her husband informed her that she was leaving her for someone else
- Counselor Lillian Mandu proposed that the woman see a fellow therapist because she can't handle the situation objectively
A psychologist was lost for words when she recently discovered a shocking truth about one of her patients.
To make matters worse, she learned too late that her husband was leaving her for a patient.
What red flags did she miss?
In a post by Daily Mail, the therapist admitted that she had ignored a glaring warning sign for weeks.

"A patient of mine told me she was sleeping with a married man, and the guilt was eating her alive," she started, referring to the first red flag.
The patient disclosed that the man was on the verge of leaving his wife for her, but she was conflicted.
According to the client, she was in love with her affair partner but felt guilty about 'being a homewrecker'.
Why can't the counsellor confront them?
The psychologist advised the patient the best way she could, but the confession did not stir any suspicion in her mind.
It was only a few days later that she realised the marriage on the verge of being wrecked was hers.
"Later that week, my husband told me he's leaving me for a woman he's been sleeping with," the heartbroken psychologist explained.
It dawned on her, albeit too late, that her husband had been having a fling with her patient, but she didn't notice the signs.
To compound her woes, she can tell either of them because of the confidentiality clauses.
Counselor Lillian Mandu's take on the quagmire
When reached for comment, psychologist Lillian Mandu told TUKO.co.ke that reconsidering the confidentiality clause would be prudent in such a case.
She advised the woman to get a fellow therapist to walk her through it because her emotions would prevent her from seeing the way ahead objectively.
"It is not easy because two adults in your face have made the decision to disrespect you," she asserted.
Mandu added that a strong-minded person would cut losses and figure out how to start again from square one.
The prudent decision would be to stop the therapy sessions and then get a lawyer to support her through the separation while ignoring the client side chick.
