Cole Palmer has become one of the major talking points in world football after an electrifying one year at Chelsea.
The forward made a surprise big-money move from Manchester City after Pep Guardiola failed to guarantee him playing time at the Etihad.
He scored 22 goals and set up a further 11 in his maiden season in West London as he helped a troubled Chelsea side secure European football.
One of the biggest and most memorable games he was involved in last season was the dramatic 4-3 win against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge. Palmer bagged a hat-trick, but that alone doesn't paint the whole picture
Chelsea vs Manchester United at Stamford Bridge
Mauricio Pochettino's side raced to a 2-0 lead thanks to a Conor Gallagher strike and a Palmer penalty. The visitors, however, clawed their back into the game and were 3-2 up in the 67th minute.
With Manchester United a few seconds away from bagging all three points, Palmer scored a second penalty to equalise proceedings in the 10th minute of stoppage time. A few seconds later, after the restart, Chelsea got a corner kick, with Enzo Fernandez taking it quickly to find Palmer in acres of space.
Cole Palmer's dramatic goal vs Manchester United
The English forward fired at the goal with his shot, taking a cruel deflection off Scott McTominay to send Stamford Bridge into delirium. Reflecting on his goal, the 22-year-old doesn't believe how much time he had on the ball.
"I just couldn't believe how much time and space I had. When I got the ball, I took a touch, and then I took another one, and I thought, 'Where is everyone? Then there were just loads of players there, so I thought, 'If I shoot on target hard, I've got a chance'. When I got it, they were all pointing saying 'mark him' and none of them came out," he said on Uncut.
Lavia's cheeky message to Palmer
Palmer has started the season with the same form, scoring six goals and supplying four more in his first six games of the new season.
The Chelsea forward scored four goals against Brighton on September 28th as Chelsea handed the Seagulls their first loss of the season.
YEN.com.gh reported that his teammate Romeo Lavia left him a cheeky message on the match ball.
