The match kicked off with Saint-Étienne dominating the early exchanges, creating several chances to take the lead.
However, Cedric Kipre and Mathieu Cafaro squandered opportunities to put the home side ahead.
Despite the hosts' pressure, Stade Reims struck against the run of play in the 42nd minute, per Flashscore.
Japanese international Keito Nakamura ended his six-game goal drought with a clinical left-footed strike, giving the visitors a surprising 1-0 lead. Reims held firm to preserve their advantage heading into halftime.
Augustine Boakye inspires comeback win for St. Etienne
The second half, however, saw a remarkable turnaround from Saint-Étienne in a blistering 10-minute spell.
Ghanaian summer signing Boakye, who had struggled to make an impact since his arrival, showcased his potential in front of the home crowd.
Boakye levelled the score in the 50th minute, tapping in at the back post after connecting with Mickaël Nadé’s precise cross.
Just seven minutes later, he completed the comeback in style, cutting in from the left before unleashing a stunning strike into the top corner past a helpless Diouf.
Saint-Étienne’s resurgence was complete, setting the stage for a memorable victory as they turned the tide in spectacular fashion.
Belgian forward Lucas Stassin added a third goal in the 74th minute, securing the win and all three points for Saint-Étienne.

Boakye, who joined the club this season after an impressive stint with Wolfsberger AC, has battled injuries but is gradually finding his rhythm.
His two goals on Saturday bring his tally to two in nine Ligue 1 appearances, signalling a return to form.
The former WAFA star will look to build on this momentum as Saint-Étienne face a daunting away clash against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes next weekend, per Ghanasoccernet.
Augustine Boakye dreams of playing for Ghana
Boakye started his career at JMJ Academy before moving to the West Africa Academy in Sogakope, Ghana. He later joined Wolfsberger in Austria before sealing a move to France to join Saint Etienne.
Despite his performances for his club, Boakye is yet to receive a call up to the national team.
“I’m from Ghana, so it would be a dream to play for the country but I am not going to force it and say I have to play in the national team," he said.
This season, he has made five appearances in the league for Saint Etienne, per Transfermarkt.
