Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has aimed a jibe at Fenerbahce coach and his former rival Jose Mourinho.
The two legendary coaches fought many battles in their careers, creating unforgettable memories for football fans.
While addressing his gesture towards Liverpool fans, Guardiola appeared to aim a dig at his former rival.
Guardiola's Man City are in a rough period. They have suffered four straight defeats in the Premier League, and last won a match on October 26.
What did Guardiola say about Mourinho?
Fans started to question whether the Spaniard was feeling the heat after his gesture to Liverpool supporters.
He denied that he was losing his cool during his press conference ahead of their match against Nottingham Forest.
"I was never cool," Guardiola said via Manchester Evening News. "I was only cool because we won. When you don't win it's completely the opposite."
Guardiola was asked if Mourinho's famous three-finger gesture at Manchester United was the beginning of his decline.
"I hope [it's] not [the beginning of the end] in my case. Maybe we are similar like Jose, but he won three and I won six! We are together in those situations."
"It was just to make our fans feel that what we have done is extraordinary. I want to prove that we are an incredible football club. Sooner or later it's going to be the end but I will try to extend as much as possible for the best of my club."
Man City have suffered six defeats in their last seven matches, a drastic decline after a superb start to the 2024/25 campaign.
