Sports pundit Raymond Nyamador has advised Andre “Dede” Ayew to consider a move to Accra Hearts of Oak, insisting it could be the key to restoring his Black Stars career ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Ayew recently ended his two-year spell with French Ligue 1 outfit Le Havre following the conclusion of the 2024/25 campaign.

According to Transfermarkt, the former Marseille and West Ham star, who is currently without a club, has been absent from the national team setup in recent months, and if Ghana qualify, his chances of featuring at the next World Cup remain uncertain.
Ayew advised to join Hearts of Oak
Nyamador, in an interview with Sporty FM, argued that a move to the local league could reopen the door for Ayew’s return to the national team.
The Sporty journalist believes that if Ayew is serious about returning to the Black Stars before the 2026 World Cup, joining Hearts of Oak would be his best option, as playing in Ghana would keep him closer to the technical team and supporters.
According to him, joining the domestic league would enhance Ayew’s visibility and highlight his willingness to back Ghanaian football, potentially improving his chances of a Black Stars recall.
On his day, there’s no denying the former Swansea star is a joy to watch. According to Wikipedia, Andre Ayew has earned 120 caps for Ghana and remains an iconic figure in the nation’s football for more than a decade.

Fans react to calls for Ayew to join Hearts of Oak
The suggestion by sports journalist Raymond Nyamador that Andre Ayew should return home and sign for Accra Hearts of Oak has stirred mixed reactions among Ghanaian football fans.
While some believe a move to the local league could reignite his Black Stars career, others argue that Andre Ayew still has unfinished business abroad.
Here’s what some fans had to say:
Kwame A. (Accra):
“Ayew joining Hearts would be massive for the Ghana Premier League. His experience could lift the club and inspire young players.”
Abena S. (Kumasi):
“Hearts of Oak is not the answer. Dede should still push for a move abroad to test himself at a higher level.”
Michael O. (Tema):
“If he really wants the Black Stars call-up again, then coming home is the smartest move. The coaches will see him every week.”
Yaw K. (Takoradi):
“Honestly, he has nothing left to prove in Ghana. Hearts signing him would be more for publicity than football reasons.”
Efua M. (Cape Coast):
“I’d love to see him in the local league. Even if it’s for one season, it will boost attendance and bring attention to the GPL.”
