According to The Guardian, his body was later recovered in the wreckage of the Piper Malibu N264DB that was carrying him and the pilot.
The wreckage was found in the sea off the Channel Islands. The pilot was never found.
Years after the tragedy, Sala’s death remains at the centre of legal proceedings. Cardiff City have insisted that Nantes must be held accountable, claiming the French club failed to ensure his safe transfer.
According to Mail Sport, the case against Nantes has been adjourned to December 2025, prolonging the legal battle over responsibility in the circumstances that led to the tragic accident.
