The politician was born on February 3, 1957. He hails from Bremang-Afrancho, Kumsi, in the Ashanti Region. He has held several vital positions in the country which have seen the country's economy soar high.

In 1987, he became the project manager at DATAME Consult, a position he held until 1987. In 1990 to 1996, he started running his own businesses. He got into politics in 1997 when he was voted into parliament to represent Suame Constituency. Towards the 2004 elections, the constituency was split into two Constituencies. Today, he represents the people of Suame Constituency.
He has held several leadership positions in parliament. For instance, he was the secretary to the Minority Caucus during his first term in parliament. Between 2001 and 2002, he became the Deputy Majority Whip. In 2002, he became the Majority Chief Whip. From 2007 to 2009, he became the Deputy Majority Leader and Minister of State in charge of Parliamentary Affairs.
