Former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan. has returned to the Ghana Premier League after 17 years.

Gyan has officially joined Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities FC ahead of the upcoming season.

The former Sunderland goal poacher inked a deal with Legon Cities FC on the transfer deadline day.

Gyan has taken to his Instagram handle to announce his move to the Legon based football club.

He wrote, "Here we go. I’m back home to continue my career with @legoncitiesfc. I’m happy to join this club because they have a future plan for Ghana football. Don’t blink when the season starts. Follow my new club for every details of the club. Thanks for your support."

The last time Gyan played in the Ghana Premier League was in 2003 when he featured for Liberty professionals.

Meanwhile, Ghana midfielder, Thomas Teye Partey, has opened up about his move to English side, Arsenal.

According to the deputy captain of the Black Stars, he couldn't sleep when he heard that his move to Arsenal was imminent.

Speaking to Arsenal.com, Partey said, “until the last moment I was not aware. My agent called me and said it was going to happen and I was so happy. I could not even sleep that night. It was a great feeling.”

When asked how important it was for him to have joined the great Arsenal family, he opined:

Well, I feel so happy, I already feel part of the family because the fans have received me, everybody is saying nice things about me and you know, to be received like this is a great feeling."
