Speed ramp kills man 1 day after youth mounted it to save lives without authorization

- A speed ramp mounted by the youth of Tefle in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region has claimed 1 life instead of saving lives

- It is reported that the youth mounted the ramp without authorization after an old man on a bicycle was knocked down by a motorbike

- After the fatal incident which happened 1 day after the ramp was mounted, it has been cleared

A group of youth, about four in number, who are residents of Tefle in the South Tongu District reportedly came out to mount an illegal speed ramp.

Information obtained directly by YEN.com.gh indicates that the ramp was on the Tefle township road connecting Tefle Motorway to Sokpoe highway which is under construction.

It is indicated that the unauthorized speed ramp composed mainly of sand and stones was mounted because a motorbike had knocked down an old man riding a bicycle in the early hours of March 6, 2021.

After this, a resident identified as Isaac Adzokatse and popularly-known as ”Are you God" also closed from work around 7 pm riding a motorcycle and got himself crashed against the illegal speed ramp leading to him somersaulting and crashing his head on the untarred road.

He was then taken to the hospital and was referred to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where he was pronounced dead on the morning of March 8, 2021.

YEN.com.gh has gathered that after the incident, the ramp was cleared off the road to prevent more people from being taken unawares by it.

According to the woman, the incident happened on March 6, 1964, when at the age of 13, she was given the honour of presenting a bouquet to Dr Kwame Nkrumah at the Independence Square.
