“Things are difficult for me. I don’t get help from anywhere because my husband is dead and only one of three kids stay with me. It has been two years since I became blind. I can’t do basic things so it’s my daughter who has been helping me. Now, I wish God takes my life," she said.

According to Maame Yaa's daughter who was also interviewed in the sad video, all that keeps them alive is a small farm she cultivates every morning.

She explained that because her mother is unable to do anything to herself due to blindness and weakness, it is impossible to leave her and go in search of a better source of livelihood.

The old woman received a GH¢200-donation from the Crime Check Foundation to assist in her plight and she wept uncontrollably.
