A Kumasi-bound Passion Air flight reportedly did a diverted landing at an airport in the neighboring country, Côte d’Ivoire.

The airline in a statement said the diversion was necessary in order to ensure the safety of passengers, crew, and equipment aboard the flight.

The Passion Air flight OP152 departed from Accra at 17:45 heading to Kumasi but could not land at the destination airport on Saturday, April 17, 2021.

The management further explained that the pilots took that decision because of the bad weather condition.

In a report filed by Citi News, the company clarified that the deteriorating weather conditions compelled the flight crew to head to the “planned alternate airport” – Félix Houphouët Boigny International Airport in Côte d’Ivoire (Abidjan) for a safe landing.

It, however, sincerely apologized to its customers for the inconvenience caused.

“All PassionAir flights operate with the highest safety standards, conforming with strict, laid down GCAA regulations. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused”, the statement further added.

Still, on aviation, the Ho Airport in the Volta Region has seen the maiden landing of an aircraft on Thursday, April 15, 2021.

The historic landing happened to be of an Africa World Airlines test flight which was to make pave way for commercial operations of the airport.

The first landing was witnessed by loads of people including the chiefs and other citizens of Ho and its environs.

In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, the crew and passengers on the maiden are seen being welcomed by some chiefs upon landing.

There was much excitement among those present as the crew and passengers exchanged pleasantries with the welcome party.
