A news conference organised by a group calling itself Concerned Patriots of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been disrupted by irate thugs suspected to be land guards.
The suspected land guards numbering 20 stopped the news conference which was being held at the Praise Tabernacle Church located at the old Dansoman police station in the Ablekuma West Constituency.
According to a report YEN.com.gh sighted on 3news, the thugs broke into the news conference wielding cutlasses and other offensive weapons.
The church’s chairs, tables, electric gadgets, and other valuables were destroyed by the thugs allegedly deployed by the Ablekuma West Municipal Chief Executive, George Cyril Bray, the report said.
The thugs drove away journalists covering the event and seized a microphone belonging to one of the media houses.
“I hold Dr. Bawumia in high esteem and have unwavering faith in him,” Ama Busia said in a recent interview as reported by graphic.com.gh.
The sister of late Prime Minister Kofi Abrefa Busia, Ama Busia added that: "When it comes to Bawumia, let me stand up for him. He has performed so well as Vice President and I say no Vice President has worked so hard and performed better than him in Ghana," said Madam Ama Busia.
In an earlier YEN.com.gh report, the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Accra, Rt. Rev. Dr. Daniel S.M Torto declared that “no man can dim the light” of Dr. Bawumia.
The vice president will be battling the likes of Trade and Industry Minister, Alan John Kwadwo Kyeremanten and the Agriculture Minister for the chance to lead the NPP into the 2024 elections.
A recent survey by the European Public Policy Institute (EPPI) disclosed that Dr. Bawumia has an “upper hand” over the trade and industry minister as the successor to President Akufo-Addo as the NPP’s presidential candidate for the 2024 elections.
“There is light ahead of you and only God can put that light off. No man and I mean no man can dim your light…,” the man of God told the vice president when he joined members of the church for the Easter Sunday worship.
